JANUARY 2021 NEWSLETTER

WE DID IT, WE DID IT JOE! We survived 2020.  It goes without saying that 2020 was challenging.  There have been difficult years in the past, but I think what made 2020 different was the unique set of challenges we all faced.  Let's face it, if we're lucky, when something awful happens we often have the luxury of feeling bad or praying for the person / people it happened to.  This is one of the few times in recent history where tragedies on a global scale impacted all of our lives.  Even the celebrity deaths of 2020 seemed to feel different, and have a deeper impact on all of us.  Add to that (for those of us who live in the United States), we experienced a year of racial reckoning that we haven't seen since the Rodney King riots ... all during a highly divisive presidential election year.  So what can we take away from 2020?  As the calendar rolls over to 2021, will our situations magically improve?  While we are all hopeful and praying that 2021 is better, we must also remember that, in many cases, it is our attitudes towards a situation (and not the situation itself) that determines our outlook and ultimately our fortunes.  As I previously mentioned, there were some particularly stunning celebrity deaths this year.  One that comes immediately to my mind is the passing of Chadwick Boseman - he is a shining example of how personal outlook affects happiness.  As we all know, Chadwick was working hard, minding his business and embracing his fans all while battling terminal cancer.  I think he can be an example to all of us on how to handle trying times.  I'll bet if you think back through some of the difficulties you faced in 2020, you can (hopefully) find a few bright spots.  Maybe you strengthened bonds with your family or found time to "stop and smell the roses".  Whatever your situation, I pray that you all have a wonderful and safe 2021 and I greatly appreciate all of the support and love you showed the UnFrumpyMommy Store and YouTube channel in 2020!
